When I try to install Windows Defender from a saved file it stops
at the middle of the installation with the message that “it cannot open the
device. Error code….†So I tried another method after fed up with the advices
from the user community.
I again downloaded WD.msi with the command “Run†instead of “save†the file
to the disk for a later installation. After the downloading the installer
asked me if I wanted to “Run†the file. So I gave the command “Run†without
disconnecting the net connection. The installation started. During the
installation it again asked me to close the IE and WD beta for modifying the
files. At the end of the installation it stopped abruptly saying that some
problems have occurred and stopping the installation. I concluded that it is
with the old WD beta file. So again I made another attempt with the above
steps. This time WD has been successfully installed to my system without any
problem. Now it is running smoothly.
I think if WD is installing directly with the command RUN instead of SAVE
no problem will arise for the installation.
