I'm used to being able to find the start menu in 95,98, to edit it. How to I
get rid of that "Start Menu too full" message, and edit the start menu.

Thanks

Too many items in the start menu (XP Start Menu only).

Right click the Start button | Properties | Start Menu tab | Customize
button | General tab | Reduce the number for Number of programs on Start
menu

Number of programs on Start menu
[[Specifies the maximum number of programs to display in the most frequently
used programs list on the Start menu. You can increase or decrease the
number. ]]

Hope this helps. Let us know.

If that is set to 6 that is all that will appear. The seventh will just delete
one of the six.
To the OP just use windows explorer the same as W95/98.
C:\Documents and settings\all users\start menu\programs.
You can Make folders and _move_ the shortcuts to the various
folders i.e. (quake to games) and so on. Use edit>move because
it is too easy to lose items using drag and drop.
good luck
