My shortcut to My Documents isnt working

Robert

Hello,

I am using Windows XP Home. Normally when I go into My Computer from the
Desktop I see two folders at the top (above the drive icons). These folder
are named Shared Documents and Robert's Documents. Normaly when I double
click Robert's Documents it takes me to My Documents for my profile. The
link was formerly C:\Documents and Settings\Robert\My Documents. Now for
some reason when I double click Robert's Documents it takes me to
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\My Documents. This folder is empyt
and of course is NOT my My Documents folder. I don't know how this got
changed. When I right click the folder and choose properties, I an not able
to modify the target location. Does anyone know how I can get this link
changed so Robert's Documents goes to the correct profile? TIA

Robert

Hi Robert,

Fix the DocFolderPaths for your profile. Open Regedit.exe and navigate to
the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocFolderPaths

In the right-pane, double-click "Robert" and set it's value as follows:

C:\Documents and Settings\Robert\My Documents
