I really can't see how signing a waiver would still not be enough.

Its a combination of the American compensation culture and a nanny state all combining to ruin fun activities for kids.

Hi Jay where do you play what position?

What kind of training do you do?

You must have a good physique, these rugby players are HUGE!

The problem with signing a waiver is that the parent can't sign away a childs rights....if, say for example a 12 year old child fell and broke it's neck, the child could sue once that child reaches a leagal age to do so.
So the waiver, in the long run, would not be worth the paper it was written on.

I play at Llandudno, and here is a larger First XV team pic

I'm top row, last on the right.

My position is Loosehead Prop, No. 1.

At the moment, all our training is fitness based, as we are pre-season.

And I'm not sure if I have a 'Good Physique'...I'm nearly 37, so 20 years of rugby is taking it's toll on me!..but I'm 6 foot, and weigh in about 22 Stone.

I dont think I have any action shots, I guess I'm too quick for the camera!

Oh, and here is me picking up another award!

Racing from Llandudno, late result: 1) Sheep. 2) Orang-utan. 3) Sheep.
:D

That's a bit silly, innit, reallyy?

I think I'd have held the race anyway and taken my chances.

Great pix above btw :thumb:

Flops, if, and I know it's a big IF, an accident were to happen, it would close the club, and ruin the seven directors of the club....and both me and my missus are directors.

:)

Well I aspire to have a physique of a rugby player.

A very strong lower body with big wheels and a decent upper body with great strength.

I asked him this because muscles weighs around 70% more than fat. At 6 foot to have a weight of 22 stones with a low body fat percentage is remarkable. He must be a very strong and powerful player if this is the case.

I weigh 10 stone and I'm 5' 10"

I did peak at 5' 11.5" but apparently we all shrink as we get older

So don't sneeze too hard or I'll be blown away :D

Mind you, a whiles back, I was 12 stone, but, well, you know, an illness here, an illness there....... ;)

I guess I'm turning more into beer belly mode as I get a bit older.

This is Mike and I, doing a bit of modeling!....I'm 22 stone in this picture, taken as dated.

And this is my missus and I, NYE 2006.

I was never a big fan of pushing the weights, just naturally a big guy I guess!

When I was at my best, about 8 or 9 years ago, I weighed about 19 stone, which I guess would be my fighting weight.
I was probably the fastest prop in North Wales, which got me my 6 Caps for North Wales. In fact I was possibly one of the top 10 fastest players in the whole Llandudno squad, I could never catch my brother, Pikakilla tho', fast little bugger!

Yes that would be nice to see!

I never liked rugby untill I met and saw some players. These are not normal blokes they are HUGE and it is a tough man's game.

I go Saracens when I can (i.e when Watford aren't playing) and I like it just because you can have a drink with whoever you want without any trouble. The players do the fighting on the pitch, while the fans can sit together and just have a banter and a drink.

Much different to football unfortuantely.

Players are nicer too as they don't have ridiculously inflated wages with insane TV money.

Rugby is a real mans game. Which is why I don't do it :p :D
