My Recent Documents reads empty

How can I configure " My Recent Documents" to , indeed, reflect recent
documents? At the present it is reading "empty" all the time. I'm using
Windows XP with all the current updates. Thanks for any help.
 
Hello,

What you need to do is right-click on the toolbar, choose
properties, then choose the Start Menu tab, then click on
the customize button and choose the advance button.
There, at the bottom of the menu shuold be a checkbox for
you to check to allow you to see recent documents.
