My Recent Documents is always empty

Hello all:
My Recent Documents is empty. I've tried the suggested help fix of:

Right Clicking the Start Menu and Choosing Properties, Customize, Advanced
and making sure the box for List My Most Recent Documents is checked.

But the above procedure does not result in recently opened documents being
listed. Any ideas?

Reagan,

* open Regedit

* navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

* in the right side pane, right-click and select 'New' > DWORD Value

* name the DWORD key NoRecentDocsHistory

Note:

If you have this key already, skip to the below 'note'

* double-click the newly made NoRecentDocsHistory key

* change value from 0 to 1

NOTE:

To disable without deleting the key, for later enabling, double-click and
change from value 1 to 0

0-disabled
1-enabled

Just a note, there are perhaps 30 utils that clear recent docs for you
on each reboot. Perhaps you've installed one and forgot about it?
