My printer won't do envelopes

K

Kurtok

Everything on my lexmark 125 works but when i tried to print envelopes the
head moves back and forth and does nothing. There is no color cartridge in
the machine. The settings on the printer are for B/W only. The color settings
in word are for B/W only. Lexmark tech help is virtually non existant

What happens if you try to print the envelope on a plain sheet of paper? Do
you get any text? Does its position correspond to where it should be on the
envelope?

Based on past user feedback it appears that some printer manufacturers for
some reason best known to their driver software writers print envelopes use
a composite of colours to create the black ink used on envelopes. No colours
then no black printing on envelopes :( Lexmark appears to be one such
manufacturer.

You *may* be able to force the issue ensuring the the font colour of the
envelope address and envelope return paragraph styles is set to black and
not to 'auto', or you may have to resort to using an envelope template
instead of the envelope/label tool to create envelopes. You could see if you
get any better results with the envelope templates you can download from my
web site. If they work, use the organizer to copy the two envelope styles to
your normal or document template and see if that works.
