MY PPS FILE WONT OPEN AS A SHOW

i have a pps file that only opens in a normal view, not as slide show. how do
i correct this. txs.
 
How are you opening it?

It will open in edit (normal) mode if you use the open menu in powerpoint.
It should open as a show if you double click on the icon.
