My Pictures

My father has an HP SP2 computer. He is 76 now and can not figure alot of
things out now. He asked me last night how to save pictures in emails. I told
him to right click and save as whatever he wanted to call it. Well when he
goes to My Pictures, there it is but there is nothing underneath it
describing what it is. He has to put his cursor over it in order to find out
what it is. Mine is not like that at all. It has the file name underneath it.
What am I telling him to do wrong?
Many Thanks
Allan

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. Underneath what?

My best guess is that his MyPictures folder is showing its contents in
details mode, while yours is showing what's there in one of the icon
modes.

Check the View menu on the window that he's using to view the folder.
Choose the Filmstrip, Thumbnails, or Icon option.

MyI guess what I am trying to say is this. On My Pictures, it says below it
what the file name is. On his, it only shows the file and he has to move his
cursor over the item to see what it is. How can I get his to show the words
below his so he can know what is the fils name?

With the folder open, toggle thumbnail view off and then back on while
holding down the shift key.

:
On the My Pictures menu click View - Thumbnails to see a small picture
of each image file with the file name below it. View - Filmstrip will
show a larger picture on top, but the file name will only show up with
the small picture on the "filmstrip" across the bottom.

Open My Pictures. Click on View, then list. This will display a list
of the file names. Then click on view, and then while holding down the
shift key, click on Thumbnails. That will show a thumbnail of each pic
with the file name below it.

Aha! I learn something new every day. I didn't realize the shift-click
will toggle between a thumbnails view with/without file names.
Thanks!
