My Pictures listed in Display Properties - Desktop

Greetings. Until yesterday, when I went to Display Properties - Desktop, I
never saw the files from the My Pictures folder listed in the wallpapers
list. They are listed now. How do get Windows to stop listing the My
Pictures files without turning off Active Desktop? I want to be able to see
the jpg files in the Web\Wallaper folder in the drop list. I've asked around
and others have the same issue I have but some others do not. My younger
brother (he's 43) doesn't have this issue on his machine. I know I can make
a new folder and move the files from My Pictures to that folder but I don't
want to do tha tunless I absolutely have to. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

He may not have the issue but it is nothing he did overtly. This is a new "enhancement" that started with Windows 2000. Not sure maybe even Windows ME. There is nothing you can do to stop My Pictures from appearing in available Wallpaper. You can work around it like you mentioned but that's the best you can do.

but the files in the 'My Pictures' folder never appeared in the list of
available wallpapers in Display Properties until yesterday. I have checked a
few systems belonging to friends today. Some of them have the 'My Pictures'
data listed but most do not. I'm perplexed as to what is causing the files
to be listed when they were not listed before.
