My Pictures Folder

I no longer have the panel on the side of the window that gives me options
such as "view as slide show". Going along with that, I no longer have a side
panel on any folders....My Documents, My Pictures...anything. How do I get
this side panel back? Please help it's driving me nuts.

Go to Control Panel and double click Folder Options.
Note: You can also click on the Tools menu at the top of the folder window to
access Folder Options.
On the General page of Folder Options, make sure "Show common tasks in folders"
is selected under Tasks.
Click OK.
