"my pictures" folder became "owners pictures" on its own ?

About a month ago my "my pictures" folder suddenly became "owners pictures".
I did not change the name. It still works fine but I'm wondering why the
name changed on it's own. Is this anything to be concerned about ? This is
a desk top folder on Windows XP SP2. Thanks.

FWIW...posting the same message repeatedly
does not cause the volunteers to respond quicker.

You say...'Owners Pictures' and 'Owners Photos'...
Which is it? And...is there an apostrophe after
the S in Owners'?

Actually...this is the first time in many years of
monitoring these newsgroups that this issue has
been raised. I'm thinking someone changed the
name. Have you tried changing it back to My Pictures
just to see what would happen?

Did you try doing a System Restore to a time before
the issue began?

Thanks for responding.

The exact wording was "owner's pictures" with the apostrophe. I tried
system restore. It did not help. The name change does not seem to have had a
negative effect on anything. I will change it back and see what happens.

Incidently the "my music" folder also changed to "owner's music" . But "my
documents" did not change. ???

Perhaps I'm making a big deal out of nothing. This just seems wierd.

Maybe this is a common occurrence
but I've never seen it discussed before.

I guess something you installed could
have caused the change. Or maybe it's
an issue with your WinXP User Account.

I would try renaming the folders and
see what happens.

Good luck.

AFAIK this is normal Win XP behaviour.
It shows as "My Pictures" on the desktop if you have it displayed there but
"Fred's Pictures" (if the account name is "Fred") in Windows Explorer.
Regards Mike.
