My picture does not show up when adding a signature in Outlook

I included a picture file (.jpg) with my signature. It shows up under the
preview of my signature. However when I insert my signature into an email,
it just shows a red 'X' with a box around it where the picture should be
located.

The file you inserted is on your computer, not imbedded in HTML code in the
signature. You have to post the jpg file on a website--your ISP might have
free web pages you can use-- and write the appropriate code to allow
recipients to see it.

I created the file using Microsoft Word and saved it as HTML. My signature
with my .jpg file (company logo) appear just fine under the preview of the
signature, just not when included into an email. How to I correct this?
