Just like it say's in the subject, my Compaq Presario 5300 desktop PC turns off while recording CD's and Copying music to my PC, the PC turns off without notice, I can usually get about 3 to 4 tracks in then..Nothing. I use iTunes For windows because I use my iPod, this problem just started happening about 12 days ago, if anybody has a clue as to what is going on with my PC and could help, that would be great.

Look in Event Viewer to see if you have any errors related in the list to
this. that would/may give you and others here a clue. Click Start/Run, then
type

eventvwr

Then click OK, and double click on Application, then double click on one of
the pertaining line items in the main windows for fault messages.

Recording CD's can be an intensive process. It's possible that this is
causing a heat issue. Many systems will shutdown when the CPU temp hits a
certain threshold. This is to avoid damage to internal components. Check
and remove dust accumulation inside and outside of the case. Check that all
fans are in good operating condition (relatively inexpensive to replace).
If necessary, relocate the case to a location that provides better airflow
to the case's vents.
