Hello all.
Everythings working fine with my broadband modem and my PC (XP) until, about
a week ago, when internet browsing became very, very slow.
If I reboot the PC or reboot the modem (external), everything works fine
again for about 4 or 5 minutes, then we slow down again.
I contacted our server and they did remote checks. Apparently the modem is
fine. When PC is turned off, or rebooted, it receives a loss free signal in a
fast time. But then my PC sends 'feedback' into the modem, thus massively
reducing it's ability and causing the slow browsing.
The server is unauthorised to give me any PC advice (just modem advice,
legal conditions apply etc etc) so could not give me any clues.
I've never heard of this before. Has anyone else? Is it software, OS,
hardware etc etc? No changes in set up preceded the fault. Anti-virus and
spyware/malware checks read clean. PC healthy otherwise.
Any ideas? At all?
Thanks in advance.
Best wishes, shoulderhead
