We are using WindowsXP and IE. Our ISP is Optonline. We were having an issue
where we are able to open, read, delete, file all mail but as soon as we
wanted to either reply to an email and/or creat a new email from scratch we
got a pop-up msg that stated that "IE Experienced a problem and must shut
down" and then our entire internet crashed & shut-down.

We contacted Optonline who said it is a definite issue w/Microsoft and/or
IE. We contacted Dell who said that we need to completely remove IE from the
add/remove programs and install a "Clean Copy" of IE??? I went to add/remove
programs and do not see IE and was told to click on componets and click on
IE, Next, and continue to remove.

I don't wanna make a bad situation worse. I just wanna be able to use IE,
have proper use of my email, get back to IE and all of my favorite places,
etc... etc...

Can someone/Anyone please point me in the right direction of how to remove
the old IE and how do I then install a new CLEAN COPY of IE and has anyone
had this email issue w/IE-Microsoft as well???

We have scanned for spyware, adware, we have removed all pop-up
blockers including the google toolbar, help, please please please help,
thanks!!

I am still having ongoing issues w/my IE Explorer email crashing. I have
tried several of the suggestions on here and am still having the same issue.

It is my understanding that the very next thing I need to do is 100%
completely remove/uninstall IE from my PC but when I go to Start - Control
Panel - Add/Remove Prpgrams I do not see IE listed???

Someone said that I need to then click on components, uncheck the box next
to IE and then go thru the prompts of next, next next, next, next, etc...
etc... and it will be uninstalled or removed but now I did that and tried to
reinstall IE and I get
a prompt that "A Newer version of IE is already installed on the PC"??? I
think that was because someone gave me a link to Windows98 to install but
none-the-less.....if I had already removed and/or uninstalled W-XP IE from
the PC properly then how in the world could I even be getting a prompt like
that message???

How in the world do I remove IE from the system and how can I
confirm that it is completely removed from the system before running a virus
scan and trying to reinstall it again from the WindowsXP disc??? Also,
someone said I may have to completely remove WindowsXP Service pack from the
pc at the add/remove programs, is that so???

I am not good with these things!! This is going on for 3 friggin months!! I
just want WindowsXP, IE and my email to work properly again. I am so
confused. Please help, someone, anyone, Pleeeeeeeeeease!! Thanks
