My outlook2003 shuts down and restarts

While I am working on outlook 2003 it will shut down and my work is lost. It
immediately restarts. How can I cure this. any suggestions are appreciated
 
Can you find any information in the Event Viewer (Applications) at the
time when the Outlook restart occurs?
 
I am also having a problem with Outlook closing as soon as it opens. My
Event Viewer says it is an Event 1000. Pat, can you help?
