I don’t know why my optical drives disappeared on my computer lists?

I tried to re-install the driver but still don’t work? Also I downloading
and updated driver but still doesn’t work?

I am running with VISTA Home Basic and Acer Aspire 5570.
Optical device is TSSTcorp CDW / DVD TS-L462D

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39) – This is the error syntax.

Please help me.

But what if there are no UpperFilters or LowerFilters to delete? I've tried
both a Lite-on and a Sony internal CD-ROM with Vista and neither will work.
Uninstalling the device and having Vista load the drivers does not work, and
the manufacturers have no updated drivers. I guess you are just out of luck.

Any suggestions on a Vista compatible internal CD-ROM drive?

Hi, I have almost the same problem, but with an Acer Aspire 5630

It came with Vista Premium installed, but the problem started after the
upgrade (?) to Vista Ultimate.

I have tried and followed all the suggested remedies from here and from Acer
& Microsoft

- but the message about "bad or corrupt Driver for Slimtype DVDRW SSM-8515S
" still haunts me.

Where can I get a driver for this device - that works?

Thanks

No, neither one. I am using Cyberlink Power2Go which is supposed to be Vista
compatible, but uninstalling it makes no difference. I do have a TSSTcorp
DVD-w/CD-rw and experience no problems with it at all.

Xyclops9,

In the event that the burner you are using is causing a problem, here are
links to three burners that people who have used them say work well with
Vista:

http://www.imgburn.com/

http://www.deepburner.com/

http://www.ashampoo.com/frontend/homepage/php/index.php?session_langid=2

I obtained those references from another forum. I've not used any of them.
Each one has a free version and a more fully featured pay version. Just for
your information and consideration. Some people say that the most recent
updates for Roxio and for Nero have fixed some (all?) Vista incompatility
issues, but I have no way of knowing.

sntholiday,

You shouldn't need any drivers because CD/DVD-ROM drives are made to work
with native Windows supplied drivers, unless you have something non-standard
installed. In the event that the burner you are using is causing a problem,
