First of all, excuse for my poor Enlish.
Problem. 2 computers in a local home network, operating system on both
computers: Windows XP Pro and a Draytek router.
I can ping on both computers, so from A to B and from B to A. So far no
problem.
In My Networklocations in explorer I can't see Computer A. So in both
computers I see only computer B.
The strange thing in my opinion is that I can bring in (type) all
directories in the adres bar of Internet explorer and can reach in this way
every partition and every directory and map on both computers. For instance
in computer A I type in the adress bar: \\Slave\C and I can see in that way
the partition of computer B. (SLAVE is the name of computer B)
Firewall is off. The same name in both computers for the workgroup. I am
administrator so with all the rights. Printer and file sharing is installed
in properties of the LAN and Internet connection.
Computer B (the "good one") is a new computer. So A is the older, but I
always saw him (her?) in my old network.
Question: Why I can't see computer A in My Networklocations ? I am afraid
this is also the cause I can't install my printer as a shared one.
Please help, for I am looking for 2 weeks for a solution.
