I've been playing with home networking over the weekend
and have broken something along the way. My network is
currently working again but the changes I made have caused
problems with my internet connection. Whilst it still
connects I don't seem to be able to access anything (web
pages, email, messenger etc), I'm not sure if it can
connect by ip though as I'm at work now and need to try
that tonight.
The problem started after I was playing about with the
netBEUI protocol trying to find a way to over come the
problems of connecting things like messenger over the
network for machines sharing the internet connection (I
read an article about it thought I'd give it a go). After
having problems with this and it caused my computer to
crash that's when the problems occured. I've tried
removing the connection (both internet and lan) and
reinstalling but with no success, I've even tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the hardware.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what I've done and
how I should go about fixing it.
