in one of the tutorials I was reading about using windows xp's ftp tool, it
referenced something called "my network places" and to locate it from the
network navigation bar.............where is that located or where would I
find it? I tried doing a search in the files and folders but it comes back
with no matches found. does anyone know how I would use windows xp to upload
material to a website, utilizing some sort of ftp process in the windows xp
program.

thanks

Locating the My Network Places folder:

Start >> Control Panel >> Network and Internet Connections

In the upper left hand corner, you will see a link to My Network Places.

Right click the Start button and choose Properties.
Click Customize for the Start Menu.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Scroll down to My Network Places and click in the box to check it.

It will now be on the Start menu.
