Using XP pro with a crossover Lan network which is
working fine but when I open my network places none of
the clients' shared folders are showing.I have to click
on workgroup computers> computer name to view them.On the
client PC however all my shared folders are displayed
fine.
File and printer sharing is installed on both - how can I
get the shared folders to show up on the host?

Click Tools | Folder Options | View and put a check mark in the box
"Automatically search for network folders and printers".

That won't make everything on the network appear instantly, though.
To see a particular shared folder, click "Add a network place" and
follow the prompts.
