My Network Places over RAS

I have a big problem, Ive setup RAS dial-in over modem on Windows 2000 DC, and now when I connect I can ping every client on network and connecto to network printers, but when I try to connect to computers either by IP address or by NetBIOS name I cant. I dont see anything in My Network Places, but when I try to connect to WinXP machines I can connect to them but only by IP address not by name. Any ideas on that RAS client gets WINS IP address and WINS register all the clients on local LAN, but I never the less see them in My Network Places??

Thank you on all your ideas and answers

Is the LAN running as a domain? Are the remote clients in that domain (or
a workgroup of the same name)?

The remote client will usually try to get a browse list by looking for
the Domain Master Browser. (That is, it does a name server request for the
special name <domainname 1b> . If this name is registered in WINS, the
remote client should get the domain browse list.

Sharing files requires valid credentials as well as connectivity.
