Windows 2003 Server RAS/Routing

My windows 2003 server is being assigned a RAS ip address from DHCP once a
VPN connection is established. When you ping the server by name it then
reports the RAS ip not the NIC ip. Is there a way to stop WINS and DNS from
updating to the RAS ip from DHCP
