My Modem Is Disconnect-Always-Urgent Help

Dear All,

i am have some Problem here with windows XP SP1, i have 4 users configured
to work as work group.

one Machine is configured to connect to the Internet and it use Internet
connect sharing and the other 3 users is taking internet from them.

i have something which is more complicated,

i found that, my PC is after 16 Minutes, is always Disconnect and i am
manually connect it to the internet.


is there way to use AT command to See if the modem configured to discoonet
after 16 minutes or Not?

Please Help in this issue and tell me what can i do to solve the Problem ?

Your ISP may be dropping the connection. Some check for inactivity and will drop the connection
after so many minutes. To check your settings, go to Internet Properties (Internet Options in the
control panel). Select the connections tab. On the list of dial up connections select the settings
button for your connection. The settings page will open, down toward the bottom you will see an
advanced button, press that. See if the disconnect boxes are check, if they are uncheck them..

Not sure why you think you need an AT command.... see below.
Please Help in this issue and tell me what can i do to solve the
Problem ?

Have you tried using any of the various "keepalive" programs to make sure
your computer doesn't get disconnected by the ISP? Or even a simple

ping <your DNS server IP or whatever> -t

for a continuous ping to the Internet in a command line?
