my javascript (I think) keeps getting disabled. Help!

I leave my computer on a lot of the time, and the last
week or so, when I go into internet explorer, it starts to
load my homepage (hotmail.com) and then stops and it will
say the page is done loading, but it's not. The first
time this happened I thought there was something wrong
with hotmail, so I went and surfed around a bit, and I
went to an auto manufacturer site and it wouldnt let me on
because it said "you need to have javascript enabled to
view this site". I havent disabled javascript at all. I
usually restart my computer and the problem seems to
correct itself, but if I leave it on for awhile and then
come back to check email or something it's disabled
again. I checked the knowledge base on microsoft and
couldnt find anything. If anyone could tell me how to fix
this problem, that would be great. thanks.

Windows version?

Seek updated definitions for your anti-virus application. After you
download them, run a full system scan.
