My insert Auto Text box does not give me the "NEW" option (it's gr

I answer hundreds of customer questions and want to save some replys as auto
text. When I go to insert... auto text... I cannot create a new entry as
that option show in faint gray. How can I create an auto text to insert that
is longer than a couple of words without that option?
