My IE / Windows Explorer / Control Panel / My Computer

WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL......

When i try to open IE, the hourglass comes up but nothing
happens....and it never loads.

When i try to open any of the other programs listed above,
the screen goes black and then it just goes back to my
desktop background and it never loads.....


WHAT IS THE DEAL???? I reinstalled XP Home.....I've tried
removing and reinstalling IE.....Nothing seems to work.

ANy help, hints, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
 
I appreciate the help...but i can't access the internet to
even get to that site from my laptop....
