My external hard disk cannot show in "My computer"

I just bought a new HITACHI 2.5'' 160GB external hard disk, but I can't find
it in "My computer".
My PC can detect it as the "USB mass storage device" but I can't put
anything in it as nothing shows on "My computer"
Could anyone help me??
I had try to connect it to another computer, and it's work.
Could anyone tell me what should I do????

go to start and run. In the command box type

diskmgmt.msc

Click Ok

In the Managament Console you should see your disk. You may need to format
it, or assign it a drive letter.

Thanks again. But I had also tried all the USB port of my PC....
Would it be the problems of not enough electricity???
Or the problems of the USB cable???
I don't think my USB port got any problems coz I could connect other device
such as any card readers...
and my PC could detect the HD as USB mass storage...
It just can't show in "My computer" and also the Disk Management....

Ask for help from the store where you bought the new HD. Or go to the
manufacturer's website for technical advice. It may need to be formatted for
Windows which is usually done in Disk Manager.
