See if this site helps in putting together a new mobo/cpu combo if that's
the way you choose to go.

Of course you would have to purchase a new XP CD since the Emachine disk
won't be worth a plug nickel. Once the mobo/cpu is installed and al is
connected back up, just use the XP CD to run a Repair install on the drive
you have and you should be back in business. Although your apps/data will
be intact you will have to re-install all the critical updates from the
windows update site.
