Hi,

I own a NEC DVD RW 2500A, and it can play DVDs fine, but when I enter a DVD
R into the machine, it XP changes it from DVD RW drive to a CD drive, and
Nero cannot write to it, as it states it needs a DVD R or DVD RW.
I am using Packer Bell DVD-R s 4.7GB 4x.

Is there a setting I need to change?

Thanks

O.

XP does not burn DVDs, you need third-party DVD burning
software.

I know that, I'm using NERO 6. But I think that because XP identifes the
drive as a CD drive when a DVD-R is in, that is what is causing the problem.

Is Nero 6 a retail version - if so should work.

Is Nero 6 an OEM version that shipped with the NEC drive you are talking
about - if so it should work.

Is Nero 6 an OEM version that DID NOT ship with the NEC drive you are
talking about - if so it should NOT work. See www.nero.com for more info.
Solution is to purchase the retail version instore/online.
