I recommend you post an exact map of your current
drives, perhaps along these lines:

Running WinXP
===========
Drive C: This is where WinXP is installed
(start a Command Prompt, then type this:
set SystemDrive
This will give you the correct answer.
Drive D: This is where Win2000 is visible.
Drive E: CD ROM

Running Win2000
=============
Drive C: This is where WinXP is visible
Drive D: This is where Win2000 is installed
(start a Command Prompt, then type this:
set SystemDrive
This will give you the correct answer.
Drive E: CD ROM

In my previous note I suggested in detail what type
of information is required to dig deeper into this
issue. You supplied about one quarter of this
information. I'm afraid if you don't make an effort
to answer ALL the questions then you won't get
much of an answer.

Congratulations to learning so much Greek in such a
short time!

The solution appears to be quite simple:
- Launch Win2000
- Launch the Disk Manager
- Delete the drive letter for the DVD
- Change the drive letter for the disk where WinXP is installed.
- Assign a drive letter for the DVD

i'm in disk management of 2000 and i cant change the dvd
drive letter , there isn't an option to do that, even if i
right click over the dvd section in disk managment, i just
get eject, properties and help. the change drive letter
and path is darkerned.

when i try to change the drive letter, i put curser over
the drive that needs to change and right click pick option
to change drive letter and path and box pops up i pick
edit and i get this message "cant modify the drive letter
of your system or boot volume" i get this message even on
the other drive to

I have never seen a CD/DVD whose drive letter you could
not change. Strange.

You can do it in a different way:
- Control Panel / System / Device Manager
- Disable your CD/DVD. This will free up drive letter E:.
- Change the drive letter for your XP disk to E:.
- Re-enable your CD/DVD. It should now claim drive letter F:.
