My Documents

This may seem strange, but I find the whole My Documents, etc concept
annoying and unnecessary. I never use it and store my files by following the
drive/folder structure that I want to use. When I see My Documents on my
Windows Explorer, it always seems to be a duplicate of my hard drive
structure.

Is there a way to disable this My garbage?

Thanks.

You may, somewhere in the options, change the name of the
directory to something you like better

Buy/Use software that is not from Microsoft

I found an option in the XP PowerToys that will allow me to put the My
Documents folder at the bottom of the Windows Explorer and to completely
remove the other My folders. That is a start.

I do agree with your last comment. I just don't understand why Microsoft
thinks that they know how I want to use my computer and force me into this
garbage. (Sarcastic question.) Believe me, if I could run my favorite
software under something other than Windows, I would.
