I now have the contents of my documents folder displayed on my desktop. I
have no idea of how to put things back to normal any suggestions?

Depending on how they got there you may be able to click on the my
documents folder and click undo move and they may all return to where they
belong. Is the My Documents folder now empty?

It is a coppy of the contence of my doc's so i can't undo the problem.

You mean that you can't select them and move them? They are stuck there? I
am unsure of exactly what you are having trouble doing. Are you unaware of
the usual methods or are they not functioning?
