Hi, think I accidentally delete the 'My Documents' folder on my desktop. As
a result, when I am searching for files using Explorer, I can't see this
particular folder. How can I

Please help.

Thanks,

Elsie

Create a new folder "c:\My Documents" (and please finish your sentences -
your post trails off in mid-air, forcing us to guess what your exact
question is).

Hi, sorry about the incomplete sentence. The default 'My Documents' exists.
Just that the link on the desktop got deleted. And I can't find it in the
drop down list in the address bar (for explorer).

Open "My Computer", navigate to drive C:\, drag "c:\My Documents"
to the desktop and tell it to make it a shortcut when prompted.

If you place "My Documents" on the desktop using the method described in the Windows
2000 Help topic titled "Show My Documents on the Desktop", it will have the Special
Properties that make it appear in the drop-down list in the Address Bar, directly
below Desktop in the left-pane of Explorer, as a selection in the left-panel of File
| Open and File | Save As dialog boxes, and allow you to change the Target Folder
Location using the "Target" tab accessed when you right-click the My Documents
desktop icon and choose Properties.

Hi, where can I find the method described in Windows 2000 help topic titled
"Show My Documents on the Desktop" ?

Hi Elsie,

If you are wanting to Show the My Documents folder on your desktop to this

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Folder Options...>View[tab]>scroll down next to the last one,
place a check mark next to "Display My Documents on the Desktop".

Hi Don, is the method you mentioned for Win XP? Or is it applicable for Win
ME also?
