My Documents folder

Hello all,
When I open my computer, in the Files stored on this computer, my folder is
empty except for the desktop. ini. When I open My Documents everything is
there, when I access thru docs and setngs everything is there. The only thing
I have done is disk cleanup, chkdsk and defrag, that was a few days ago and
to tell you the truth I'm not really sure how long this folder has been this
way. I don't usually access my docs from there. I run weekly anti virus and
spyware scans, results are clean. I don't even know if this really matters,
but all the other user account doc folders contain their documents. I've even
logged in on each user account and results are the same. Anyone have any
ideas?

Are you sure some other user has not deleted the Shared Files?
You could check their bins.

Hi ernie,
I have been in the other user accounts and nothing in their bins and its
been quite awhile since they have been on my computer, they all have their
own laps.

Hi Newbie Coder,
When you open my computer this is the title of the section that contains the
shared documents and user document folders.

So when you browse to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents
are the files there?
I am groping in the dark on this one.

Hi ernie,
Thanks for your time but this is more hassle than it's worth. In the access
point you refer to there are no individual user doc folders. I played around
with creating dummy folders and the document folder that appears in the first
window, under section titled Files stored on this computer, when clicking on
my computer from start menu is dead. Probably a shortcut, path or reg
problem, and I dont't know enough to venture a fix. My computer isn't
complaining. I might try deleting this folder, copy a live one, and drag it
over there. I'm really rambling now. Anyway thanks again for your time.

It seems you have lost your files somewhere along the line.

The only thing is your "Shared Pictures" and "Shared Music" folders have
gone which are part of the folders set up during installation.

Best of luck,
ern.
