my documents folder mapped to a network drive - access denied

The my documents folder connected to a network drive on the domain server
when tried to open says access denied even though the user has been given
complete access in the security settings. But when we disconnect it from the
network(ie pull the network cable out of the pc) the folder opens. The
syncronisation is set to disable offline.

Is this happening to just one user or multiple users?? If it is happening to
just one user does he have the problem if he tried by logging onto another
domain computer?? Are there any errors/warnings in the logs that you see
via Event Viewer that indicate any related problems on the client
omputer? --- Steve

another issue along with this is that the outlook is disconnected from the
exchange and when we check for email or connect it asks for the domain
user/pass and then works fine

Yes this is only for one user.
And yes when i logon the user to another computer in the domain its works fine
so please advise me with any settings in windows to change to get it back to
work normally

Many thanks

Check the logs on that client computer to see if anything relevant is shown
and on the computer where access is denied to the share. On the computer
with the share look for a logon failure that occurs at the time the user
tries to access a share. Often a failed logon event will have a brief
explanation or code. One thing that may be happening is that the user is
using stored credentials. Have the user logon and go to Control Panel/user
accounts/his or her account and then check manage my network passwords in
the upper left hand corner and delete any that refer to accessing the
computers in question. It would also be a good idea to check that domain
computer by running the support tool netdiag on it to see if any problems
are found with DNS, dc discovery, domain membership, trust/secure channel,
etc. --- Steve
