My Display name is incorrect when I send messages

When I send an email from Outlook 2000, the reciever sees
a name that's not mine. I used that name a while ago
doing some testing, but it no longer appears anywhere that
I can find in my setup. I created a new profile today
hoping to correct the problem, but it's still there.

Any suggestions?

Do you have Outlook setup in Internet Mail Only (IMO) configuration?

Try closing Outlook and then export the following registry key;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Messaging
Subsystem\Profiles\Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings

Start Outlook and recreate your profile with the proper display name. Please
save the registry key so you can import it back in case things go wrong.

Hope this helps!

I found it!!

I had been testing things involving my exchange server at work and I had set
up a test user on that server with the name that has been displaying. I had
hidden the user, so I didn't see it the first time I looked there. Thanks
for trying to help.
