My desktop went all big and puffy

This may be a basic question, but I left my computer on all night and when I
woke up all my icons and images on the desktop had lost resolution and gotten
bigger and fuzzier - they used to be small and sharp. What can I do to
restore the normal appearance? Please help!

Check your screen resolution settings. Right click on a blank part of the
screen and select "Properties", select the "Settings" tab and adjust your
settings as required.

Mine's the same. Sometimes when I open the laptop it goes puffy. I haven't
changed any settings that I know of, and if I shut it down and start back up
again (restart doesn't work) it usually goes back to normal.

Any ideas?

Elaborate on the "puffy".

Everything has gone ever so slightly larger, less sharp etc. None of the
screen is missing or anything.

I realised that the screenshot looks normal to everyone else

This problem is annoying me

Try:

- increasing the color resolution to 32 bit.

- changing the monitor type, or getting updated drivers for the monitor.

Both of these are in the Display Properties.

If the Clock is no longer round, you have either the wrong resolution
set, OR you allowed the system to "update" to an incorrect set of
display drivers. So either set the resolution correctly for your
display, and/or "roll back" to the correct display drivers in Device
manager.
