My defult is stuck in 7.5X6, page set up let me change it, help?

I started a document on my new lap top not realizing the page default was set
on Executive. Now, when I try to change the page size or the default it shows
letter on the page set up but still stays in executive. I opened the document
on my PC and now all of my documents there are executive...no matter what I
do it will not let me change the page size...HELP. This is my thesis!

I've never heard of a single document changing the default page size for the
entire system. Unless that document is carrying a virus around with it? Have you
performed a virus check on the document and your two machines?
