"my computer"

A

Andy

I had a system crash but I managed to recover it but now
when I click on "my computer" it has a lot of trouble
finding any of the drives, the window goes blank showing
only the searching torch icon, it eventually finds them
after about 3 mins.
Any ideas.

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Start/run msconfig, go to the services tab and disable the line loading
windows image acquisition. Click apply/ok and reboot, see if this helps.

Hi Andy,

When you click Start and then click My Computer, or when you double-click My
Computer on your Windows desktop, Windows may search (a flashlight may
appear) for a long time (for example, 5 minutes) before files appear.

Disable the Windows Image Acquisition service.

If this does not help, uninstall 821557 hotfix
