My computer won't start up

My computer was man-handled (literally) last night and now it won't start.
The moniter says "Warning: Computer entering power saving mode" and it just
sits idle. Twice after turning it off and then on again, my background
picture will come on the screen but nothing else. I put the "recovery disk"
in but it didn't start either. Help!

If you are using Windows XP, try to start up in the save mode
and choose for the last known good condition!

Try to logon in Safe Mode; seconds after you hit the power button press F8
about every two seconds to boot in any of the safe mode options, select the
Safe Mode option.. if it boots up go to Start\Control Panel\Power saving
options\Hibernation tab\and uncheck the option, save modifications and
restart the computer... if no change, logon in Safe Mode again and run the
System Restore application.

From the Safe Mode login Options you can alternatively use the Last Known
Good configuration option... which will most likely revert the problem but
check the Hibernation setting anyway to make sure it's disabled.

To make the computer detect the Recovery disk, you need to enter the BIOS
and set the CD drive to be first in the boot order list.
After you hit the power button, press the delete key at 2-21/2 times per
second until the BIOS appears on the screen.. check the links for tips on
the BIOS setup.

Unplug the computer and take the case off, check every connection for a good
fit since it was "manhandled" it's possiable that some connections became
loose.
