My computer starts with a bunch of wierd symbols

I have tried system restor and that does not work. I need some help in
figuring what is wrong or what else I could do to fix the problem?
 
Where are these wierd symblos? Have you done any changes to your computer or
tried runninga spyware or virus scan?
 
No I have not tried to run spyware or virus scan. I installed Mcafee quick
clean and the symbols are everywhere I can not even navigate windows.
 
I have never heard of this kind of problem. Have you tired booting in safe
mode?
