My Computer Opens on Startup

When running XP home edition, on initial startup of the
computer "my computer" window opens up. It is not in the
program startup menu, nor is it in regedit under run for
both HKEY_CURRENT_USER or HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE. A couple
viruses have been recently removed from this computer.
Specifically
http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/Print100560.htm and the
registry has been edited accordently. I believe it could
specifically be Edit the "Run" value in the following key
from "C:\WINDOWS\DLLREG.EXE" to "":
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows ...as "" shows up under startup
programs. I do not want to remove this from startup as
my computer may no longer be able to boot up and it may
not even be the source of the problem.

I have the same problem but have to the best of my
knowledge not been infected by viruses.
Computer is brand new and before first net-access
equipped with latest virusprotection and firewall. but
you never know....
In my case it is the folder "Program" that opens up. I
cannot find any obvious commandlines in the registry for
this action.

Check in the registry under the run key. I have had some programs
enter the wrong data IE program files 3\Program. The correct entry for
such entry should be Progra~3\program. Be sure to check under the user
key also, Hope this helps
