Hi there, we have a computer using WinXP Pro, and somehow the user has
completely eliminated any trace of the My Computer links... it is not on the
desktop or the start menu. The only ways I can get to it now are by browing
through folders until I find one which has a "quick link" along the left
side, or by opening up a folder and manually typing in "my computer" into the
address bar.

How might I restore this to either (preferably the start menu, as then it
can be enabled to the desktop that way).

The OS works perfectly fine, using a system restore seems slightly drastic
(and I have no idea how long it has been this way)... the only problem is
that a link is missing.

1. Right-click an empty area of your desktop and press Properties. 2.
Select the Desktop tab. 3. Press the Customize Desktop button. 4.
Select the General tab. 5. Check the boxes for the icons you wish on
your desktop. 6. Press OK, Apply, and OK.

After you have restored the My Computer icon to the Desktop, you can
drag and drop it to the Start Menu.

HTH :)
