"MY COMPUTER" left side Explorer Bar stays as part of Background

Noticed that "MY COMPUTER" has the Explorer Bar (left side
of display)still showing after finished with display.
Stays on as part of the Desktop Background no matter what
I try to do to it to get off. System restore no help to
back date. Changing themes no help either. Any suggestions?
