Hello
I have a 3 computer network, all connected to a cable internet router. all computers are running xp pro and 2 are laptops and one is a desktop. on the desktop for some reason everytime i enable files sharing for any of the drives eg c: drive...it disables it once u turn the computer off and then when u turn it back on it says something in the sharing and security tab like"windows has disabled file sharing to this drive as a precaution" etc etc. There must be a way around it cause it does not affect any of the other computers.
any ideas?

What shares? The "root" \ directory? They also have hidden
"administrative" shares by the name of the drive letter, plus the $
sign - i.e. C:\ is known as C$ and D:\ is known as D$ - this may be
why they get reset?
