My Computer icon problems

I just downloaded and installed sp2. Now everytime i try to open the MY
COMPUTER icon a flashlight pops up and it takes about 5-10 minutes to show
all my drives and folders. Once they are found and I open the my computer
icon again, it opens with no problem. Why is there a problem with opening
the my computer the very first time. I have well over the system requirments
for sp2.
