My computer freezes when deleting a folder

For some reason whenever I try to delete a folder in
Windows Explorer, my computer freexes and I must end
explorer.exe and use the run command to start it again.
The folder does not delete by the way. Any help?
 
open the folder all the way, delete the contents and then
delete the folder
