My Computer folder

When clicking on My Computer from the start menu, I only see the icons. The
whole left side of the screen is missing (system tasks, Other Places and
Details). How can I restore these items?

Hi Cal

Open My Computer or any other folder window. Go to the Tools menu, click
on Folder Options, then on the General tab click the radio button for
"Show common tasks in folders."
